Bucket List: Sunrise at Rocky Mountain National Park

Weekly Photo Challenge: Landscape

Seeing the sunrise at Rocky Mountain National Park has been on my bucket list for a while. In January, I got to cross it off the list, right before I turn 30. Pictures will never do it justice; you owe it to yourself to get out there and see it in person.

I agree. I live in Colorado and have seen it during all seasons. What a great place to visit and enjoy the scenery. Check out the Stanley Hotel while your there (its the hotel where The Shining was written.

I still can’t get over the beauty of it. I kept asking my wife – how long do you think it would take for us to get used to this? It’s just incredible. We heard about that hotel! I tried to convince my wife, but she was too chicken! 😦

I have stayed at the hotel. Its old and makes a lot of noise, but nothing to wild happened. As for the views, I see Pikes Peak every day on my way to work and I hike/ride there every weekend. You get used to it, but it is always inspirational when you take the time to admire the beauty. If your interested, take a look at the header photo on my blog. Its pretty spectacular.

I definitely teared up watching the sunrise – no pictures could ever do it justice, it was so majestic. I think we passed one other couple in the entire 6 hours we were out there. I can’t wait to go back!

Very cool. Doesn’t it make it more special when there’s no one or maybe just one or two others so that you can maintain your solitude? It’s funny though that we live in such a society where we technically can’t live without others and yet we prefer solitude when we are in nature!!! LOL
