If you’re looking for a hunky dory story about the “World’s Best Dad” keep looking. This is the evolving story of me, and my 5-year-old daughter, and we’re far from normal.
We live in my old bedroom from highschool with my parents. She rock climbs, likes listening to Regina Spektor and she refers to my dad as Granny. She wears tye-dye, cowboy boots and tutus; sometimes all at the same time. I tickle her probably seven times a day.
If I had to narrow it down to the three things I want to teach her, they would be: to be herself, no matter what anybody thinks; to accept others as they are; and to ride big dogs like a horses.
I got custody of her in August of 2011 and have had to grow a bunch, while going to school and figuring out who I am as a man. Which is exactly what I’m still doing, now I’m just telling everyone about it.
